After returning from holiday I had to make an emergency appointment because I was in agony and my face swollen on the right hand side. John was able to see me the next day. An x-ray was taken and antibiotics given. I returned the following week looking and feeling so much better so that John could check the area more easily. The staff are always lovely, friendly and welcoming.

I have been with John and the team now for many years. They are all very friendly and professional. I’ve always left knowing I’ve had the best treatment and advice to keep my teeth healthy.I can’t recommend them enough 😊

I recently had an appointment for my annual check-up with the dentist - John - followed by my 6-month appointment with the hygienist - Steph. As always I was treated with the utmost courtesy and professionalism. As soon as I entered I was greeted with a warm welcome by the receptionist. I was called up for my appointments on time - so no waiting around. John always takes time to check how you are, whether there has been any issues since the last check-up and he is very reassuring as he goes about his job. In short, he goes out of his way to put you at ease. Steph, likewise, does a thorough job giving my teeth a scale and polish and also gives great encouragement and advice on how to look after my teeth in between visits. They are a small team, but go out of their way to provide an excellent service. I could not recommend more highly.

The surgery is bright and clean, light and airy, albeit an older property. It is a very welcoming practice having a separate comfortable waiting area with homely sofas. An open reception area, away from the waiting area, equally welcoming and spacious. No high desks and screens blocking the staff from their clients and creating an immediate division. The team listen and chat calmly in a friendly manner prior to starting my treatment. Asking questions about my teeth and gums and health generally. A pre completed Health questionnaire allows me to update my records and allows my hygienist to acknowledge any changes.I feel cared for and listened to. Steph gives me updates on things she notices which may be 'new' during my appointment. There is always an opportunity to ask and discuss anything I need to clarify or discuss potential new treatments.I recommend this practice wholeheartedly. Its very relaxing. Thank you Steph

I recently had my 6-month appointment with the hygienist, Steph. She spent a solid 30-minutes giving my teeth a thorough scale and polish and did a wonderful job of removing excess staining. The difference was very noticeable - first class treatment. I could not recommend more highly.

I went for a tooth extraction, they offered me numbing gel for the procedure, however the gel didn’t help with the needle when it was going inside my mouth, however, the extraction was quick and not painful at all,However, I was shocked it was £96 for the procedure as I was told by the orthodontist I needed the extraction, I don’t blame the dentist for this lack of information, however, even when I arrived, no cost was stated, I only found out when I signed the warning they give to state anything that can go wrong. I do wish they would’ve told me verbally rather than a piece of paper telling me the prices and with the price was not at the bottom, but at the top of the paper

I received excellent service from the hygienist and wider team. They took the time to update me on the health of my teeth, offer helpful advice on how to improve my dental hygiene, and ensure I felt comfortable throughout the appointment. It’s the little things that really make a difference, like remembering what I’d been up to since my last visit. It makes the experience feel personal and welcoming. Highly recommend!

I went to the Smile Society Coppull and I can’t thank the hygienist enough for the transformation in just one session.I have never seen a hygienist before and was nervous however from the off I was put at ease. There was absolutely no pain, my teeth have never felt so clean or looked as clean. I was informed on how to keep on top of this at home and what the next steps can be either the dentist/ hygienist should I want it.Everyone at the dentist from walking through the door was lovely and welcoming, I will definitely be back and would highly recommend!!!Thank you again!!

This dentist has literally changed my life for the better. The professional and friendly staff are amazing. On my first visit I had horrendous tooth pain, swollen gums, wobbly tooth, gum disease, and missing back teeth, also very stained yellow teeth and I was very conscious when smiling. John and the Coppull team, including the hygienist got to work, showed me how to brush my teeth properly, helped me get rid of my gum disease which enabled me to have some implants, sinus lift, bone graft, including root canals. The care Coppull take is another level, they explain what they are doing and there is no pain whatsoever. This team have made such a positive impact in my life and I no longer fear the dentist. I trust them 100% which means everything. Thank you.

I can’t recommend Smile Society Chester enough!I’m currently at university in Chester, while my usual dentist is back home, around four hours away. When I developed an infected wisdom tooth and was in a lot of pain, I needed an emergency appointment but struggled to find anywhere that would take me. I then came across Smile Society Chester and found their online booking form, which was so easy to use. I was able to get an appointment that same morning, which was a huge relief given how much pain I was in.From the moment I arrived, the receptionist and the whole team were so lovely and welcoming. They got me sorted quickly, made me feel completely at ease and genuinely made me feel cared for. This was especially important to me as I’m away from home and don’t have my usual dentist nearby.I never felt rushed, and the whole team came across as experienced, knowledgeable and really down to earth. I’m so glad I found them and would definitely choose to come back if I have any dental issues while I’m in Chester.Highly recommend!

I had a great dental experience at Foregate Street Dental Clinic. I was experiencing pain and was able to attend an emergency appointment for a filling with Laura. All staff were welcoming and friendly. I was a very nervous patient but Laura was very thorough in answering all of my questions and settled my nerves with her calm approach. I am very grateful to the staff at Foregate Street Dental Clinic and would highly recommend this practice.

Rob the dentist is a credit to his profession - kind, thoughtful, charming and understanding - altogether ideal for someone with severe dental phobia like myself. If I could remotely afford the suggested treatment I would probably even go back to have the work done, so reassuring is his presence!! The lack of fifth star is no reflection on Rob, just an expression of my suspicion that private dentistry nowadays prioritises profit, much in the same way as the vet practices owned by big corporate chains grab as much money as possible with little thought for genuine animal welfare!!!

I had an emergency dental appointment over the christmas period with Paul and from a very nervous patient my experience was amazing. Paul was caring, knowledgeable, empathetic, professional and great at explaining and communicating everything, from the first phone call to arriving at the surgery. The extraction procedure was explained, he made sure i was ok all the way through and that i definitely wanted to go through with it. Paul took his time, didn't rush ensuring everything went smoothly. The professionalism of Paul and his lovely wife was second to none. I highly recommend this Dental Surgery and if anyone is nervous you’re 100% in the right hands with this one.

Really happy with this dental clinic. The staff are so professional and friendly. They got an amazing dentists who are doing a great job! Getting an emergency appointment is dead easy and can be booked online. I am glad we’ve registered with this clinic!Their fees are a little bit on the high side of the scale, but still reasonable and I think it definitely worth it (based on a previous experience). Thanks team

18:09 04 Oct 25

The dentist himself is amazing! Makes me feel at ease even though I have a phobia of dentist. The only issue I had was booking the appointment. They tried to get me to book 3 separate sessions for 3 fillings when it could be done in one. At first the receptionist was adamant that I could only book them separately but when I then didn’t book in then I was told at a later date this was not the case and I could book in one. It feels sales focused here when dentistry is already so expensive. I just care about what I need and like the options to be presented in a way that is customer centric and not how you can squeeze money I don’t have out of me.

Alec is the dentist that has always done any work I’ve needed and is truthful and not pushy when it comes to making a decision on any work that he recommends. Always gives you time and when able to other options available. And his work is always exceptional he talks through what he is going to do before he dose anything which puts you at ease. I would highly recommend them as a dentist to friends and family

From the moment we walked in, my first impression of the practice was highly positive. The environment felt welcoming, clean, and professional. This appointment was for my daughter, who is currently on the waiting list for an autism assessment and struggles with communicating and understanding. I explained this to the staff, and they were incredibly caring, patient, and professional. They wonderfully directed all conversations to my daughter, even though I was answering the questions for her. Although I didn't catch her name, the lady on reception was exceptionally good with my daughter and made us feel welcome right away.Compared to other dental experiences we have had in the past, this one stood out for all the right reasons. Their patient and understanding approach completely alleviated my daughter's stress, worry, and anxiety. I would absolutely recommend this practice to any family looking for a genuinely supportive and inclusive team.

I went in after I had a severely broken wisdom tooth with an on going infection. NHS wouldn’t remove it and wanted to pop me on a 3 year wait list, I called another private dentist who were unable to do it incase it was surgical but passed me the number of Gwersyllt Dental. They were absolutely fantastic I was very nervous having been in pain for over a week and made out as if it was a really big deal extraction but all the staff and the dentist were absolutely brilliant I couldn’t fault them! Needed to be seen urgently on my doctors advice. Appointment given for same day, thorough examination of my mouth, full scan of mouth and teeth done and the dentist even manipulated and checked out my jaw to make sure that wasn’t the problem. Excellent professional treatment and they were able to rule out any problem coming from my teeth and concluded it was the salivary gland causing the issues. Highly recommended
