Subtle Smile Renewal

Composite veneers offer a minimally invasive way to reshape and refresh your smile.

A tooth-coloured resin is carefully layered and sculpted onto the tooth surface, allowing the dentist to smooth edges, close small gaps and subtly redesign the visible shape of the teeth.

Because the material is sculpted directly onto the tooth surface, we can carefully refine the shape and edges of each tooth, creating subtle but noticeable improvements while preserving the natural structure underneath.

Where Composite Veneers Can Make the Biggest Difference

Composite veneers can be used to improve several cosmetic concerns, including:

Step 1

Consultation & Smile Planning

We begin with a consultation to understand what you would like to change about your smile. Your teeth and bite are assessed to ensure composite veneers are suitable for you.

Step 2

Composite Sculpting

A tooth-coloured resin is carefully layered and shaped directly onto the tooth surface to refine the shape and appearance of the teeth.

Step 3

Polishing & Final Refinement

Once the desired shape is achieved, the composite is hardened and polished to create a smooth, natural-looking finish.

Our Promise

Cosmetic dentistry should never feel rushed or pressured.

At Smile Society, every stage of treatment is planned with your input and approval. During your consultation, we will talk through the changes you would like to make and whether composite veneers are the most appropriate option.

A Conservative Alternative to Ceramic Veneers

Composite veneers are often a good option for patients who would like to improve their smile while keeping treatment as conservative as possible.

Because the material is applied directly to the surface of the tooth, we can usually make subtle changes to shape and symmetry without removing much (if any) natural enamel.

Success stories. Real outcomes

“Alex was fantastic. I went for the extraction of a broken tooth, but I didn't even know he had taken it out. I haven't been to a dentist for 12 years. I am definitely using this one. The aftercare is great. Shame the front of the building doesn't represent the great decor inside. The staff are very friendly and pleasant, which is a good thing to keep you calm. I guess you can tell I don't like the dentist, but I shook hands with Alex, a great man.”

Patient stories

“I went in after I had a severely broken wisdom tooth with an ongoing infection. NHS wouldn’t remove it and wanted to put me on a 3-year wait list. I called another private dentist, who was unable to do it, in case it was surgical, but passed me the number of Gwersyllt Dental. They were absolutely fantastic. I was very nervous, having been in pain for over a week and made out as if it was a really big deal extraction, but all the staff and the dentist were absolutely brilliant, I couldn’t fault them! Thank you so much. He'll be back!”

Patient stories

“I have an extreme phobia of dentists, following a very bad experience some 30 years ago. This resulted in my having to have full dentures. Gwersyllt and Dr Tirca have been brilliant. The care, treatment and understanding I received were second to none. Every step was explained and taken slowly to ensure I felt at ease. I am surprised at the fit and match of the dentures. Thank you all.”

Patient stories

“All staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. Mr Tirca is very diligent and professional, recently helping me with an ongoing issue. Check-up appointments are always arranged to your convenience.”

Patient stories

“You're greeted with a lovely smile and a great welcome. The surgery is spotless, the dentist is exceptional, all is explained in detail with the work to be carried out, all the staff are friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for great dental care. Thank you to all who work there.”

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between composite veneers and dental veneers?

Both treatments improve the appearance of teeth, but they differ in the materials used and how they are created.

Composite veneers are sculpted directly onto the tooth using a tooth-coloured resin that the dentist shapes and polishes by hand.

Dental veneers, on the other hand, are custom-made in a laboratory from ceramic or porcelain and bonded to the front of the teeth.

Composite veneers are usually more conservative and can often be completed in a single appointment, while ceramic veneers are typically chosen for their durability and highly refined aesthetics.

What is the difference between composite veneers and composite bonding?

Composite bonding and composite veneers use the same tooth-coloured material, but they are usually applied in slightly different ways.

Composite bonding is often used to repair individual issues such as small chips, gaps or uneven edges.

Composite veneers typically involve reshaping the visible surface of one or more teeth to improve the overall appearance and symmetry of the smile.

Both treatments are minimally invasive and preserve most of the natural tooth structure.

How long do composite veneers last?

Composite veneers typically last 5–7 years, although their lifespan can vary depending on oral hygiene, bite forces and lifestyle habits.

Because composite is a softer material than ceramic, it may be more prone to staining or small chips over time.

However, one advantage of composite veneers is that they can often be repaired or refined relatively easily if needed.

Regular dental check-ups and good oral hygiene can help maintain their appearance for longer.

Do composite veneers look natural?

Yes. Modern composite materials are designed to mimic the colour and appearance of natural teeth.

The material is layered and shaped by hand, so it blends with surrounding teeth and complements the natural smile.

While ceramic veneers offer the highest level of translucency, well-designed composite veneers can still produce very natural-looking results.

Are composite veneers reversible?

In many cases, composite veneers require little or no removal of enamel, which means the treatment can be considered more conservative than ceramic veneers.

However, every smile is different, and some minimal preparation may sometimes be required to achieve the best result.

Your dentist will always discuss the most suitable approach for your teeth before treatment begins.
